Gentis Highlights AI’s Expanding Role in Recruitment as Tech Talent Demand Accelerates Across MENA
Gentis, a global recruitment and talent advisory firm, has spotlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping the hiring landscape across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). As recruitment activity rebounds in 2025, organizations are increasingly leveraging AI-driven tools to attract, assess, and retain top digital talent.
According to LinkedIn’s Future of Recruiting 2025 – MENA report, 37% of organizations are already experimenting with or integrating generative AI into recruitment processes. Simultaneously, demand for AI expertise is rising sharply. PwC’s AI Jobs Barometer reveals that job postings requiring AI skills in the UAE have doubled over the past three years, growing from approximately 5,000 in 2021 to nearly 10,000 in 2024.
Recruitment across the Middle East has also shown significant momentum, particularly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with Q1 2025 figures surpassing the same period last year.
AI Reshaping Regional Hiring Dynamics
AI is increasingly transforming recruitment strategies across the GCC, helping companies streamline sourcing, screening, and matching candidates. These technologies enable recruiters to focus on high-value tasks such as interviewing and engagement, fostering a balance between data-driven insights and human interaction.
“Recruitment in the Middle East is entering a new phase, powered by technology and defined by skills,” said Stéphanie Reniers, Co-Founder and CEO of Gentis. “We are seeing record growth across finance, construction, engineering, and IT. Organizations are integrating AI not just into their operations but into how they identify and hire talent. This evolution is creating new opportunities for both employers and professionals.”
Industries beyond technology are also benefiting from this shift. Engineering, construction, and financial services are undergoing digital transformation, creating a strong need for specialized, adaptable talent. Gentis’ sector expertise enables companies to address critical skills gaps and build resilient, future-ready teams.
Leadership Strengthening and Regional Expansion
To accelerate its regional growth, Gentis has appointed Fayçal Lahlou Nabil as Executive Director for the Middle East & Africa (MEA). With more than 15 years of recruitment and business development experience across Europe and North Africa, he will lead Gentis’ strategic expansion, oversee executive placements, and drive business growth across the GCC.
“The UAE labour market continues to lead the GCC, with a solid 4% rise in hiring during Q2 2025,” Fayçal noted. “We’re witnessing strong recruitment activity in finance, technology, and sales, with high demand for CFOs, digital transformation leaders, and data-driven professionals. The market has moved from ambition to execution, emphasizing measurable performance and results-oriented leadership.”
A Growing Presence in the Middle East
Founded in 2011, Gentis has grown into an international recruitment powerhouse with 500 employees across eight global offices. Specializing in STEM and strategic industries such as technology, engineering, life sciences, finance, and energy, Gentis supports organizations in adapting to the evolving world of work.
With its regional headquarters in Dubai and plans to open an office in Riyadh, Gentis aims to strengthen its role as a key recruitment partner for organizations driving digital transformation and sustainable growth in the region.
“The rise of AI in recruitment is not just about automation—it’s about empowerment,” said Reniers. “It enables companies to make smarter, fairer, and more strategic hiring decisions, creating a stronger connection between people, skills, and purpose.”
