FIA, Formula 1 Group and All 11 Teams Sign Ninth Concorde Agreement Through 2030

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), Formula 1 Group and all 11 FIA Formula One World Championship teams have officially signed the ninth Concorde Agreement, securing the regulatory, governance and commercial framework of the sport through to 2030.

The announcement follows the signing of the 2026 Commercial Concorde Agreement earlier this year by all teams and Formula 1 Group. Together, the agreements define the governance structure, commercial terms and regulatory oversight of the FIA Formula One World Championship for the remainder of the decade.

First introduced in 1981, the Concorde Agreements are foundational to Formula 1, designed to promote sporting fairness, technological innovation and operational excellence while aligning key stakeholders under a unified governance framework. Each iteration has played a central role in shaping the championship into one of the world’s most watched and commercially successful sports properties.

The newly signed agreement confirms the participation of all current teams, including the incoming Cadillac Formula 1 team, providing long-term stability for the championship’s sporting and technical evolution. It also reflects a renewed spirit of collaboration between the FIA and Formula 1 Group, underpinned by transparency, mutual respect and shared strategic objectives.

Under the new framework, the FIA will be able to further invest in race regulation, race direction, stewarding and technical expertise, strengthening governance standards and supporting the continued development of the sport. The agreement also ensures a stable platform for innovation, enabling Formula 1 to remain at the forefront of technological advancement while delivering competitive racing for fans worldwide.

The signing comes at a time of strong momentum for Formula 1, supported by record global viewership, an expanding race calendar and rising engagement among younger audiences.

Commenting on the announcement, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said the ninth Concorde Agreement secures the long-term future of the FIA Formula One World Championship. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the FIA and Formula 1 Group in building a framework focused on fairness, stability and ambition, while reinforcing the sport’s leadership in innovation and governance.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1 Group, described the agreement as a significant milestone as the sport marks its 75th anniversary. He noted that the new Concorde Agreement positions Formula 1 for continued global growth and thanked the FIA and teams for their cooperation in achieving outcomes that benefit the entire championship.
