Fakhruddin Properties achieves breakthrough with UAE’s first 90:90 waste management initiative
Fakhruddin Properties has announced the successful implementation of its 90:90 Waste Management initiative, a pioneering sustainability model designed to divert 90% of building waste from landfills within 90 days — a first-of-its-kind achievement in the UAE.
The pilot programme was introduced earlier this year at Trafalgar Central in Dubai International City and has now met its ambitious waste reduction goals. The development has become the first residential property in the UAE to integrate in-building composting and waste-sorting facilities, setting a new benchmark in sustainable real estate practices.
To mark the achievement, Fakhruddin Properties hosted a special event led by Yousuf Fakhruddin, CEO of Fakhruddin Properties, and attended by Mohammed Alrayees, Head of Strategy – Waste Management at Dubai Municipality, who delivered the keynote address. The event also featured a panel of regional sustainability experts and innovators, who discussed “Waste Management and its Impact on Reducing Climate Change.”
The initiative underscores Fakhruddin Properties’ commitment to sustainability and supports the UAE’s broader environmental objectives by promoting responsible waste management and reducing the carbon footprint of residential developments.
