Badr Al Ghurair, a distinguished Emirati business leader, is at the forefront of transforming the UAE’s mobility and transport ecosystem through his visionary leadership as CEO of Zed and Kabi by Al Ghurair. With more than two decades of experience spanning mobility, construction, and finance, Badr is redefining how the nation moves—powered by technology, sustainability, and a people-first philosophy.

As the driving force behind Zed, Al Ghurair’s pioneering homegrown ride-hailing platform, Badr oversees the company’s strategic direction, operations, and innovation agenda. Under his leadership, Zed has rapidly grown to encompass 10,764 vehicles through strategic partnerships with Dubai Taxi Corporation and National Taxi, uniting the fleets of Dubai’s top three taxi operators—including Kabi by Al Ghurair—onto one integrated platform.

Today, more than 80% of all taxis in Dubai are hosted on Zed, marking a major milestone in building a unified, efficient, and tech-driven mobility ecosystem that enhances connectivity and urban living across the Emirate.

As CEO of Kabi, Badr continues to play a defining role in advancing the UAE’s public transport infrastructure. Established in 2000 as the country’s first franchise taxi operator, Kabi now manages a fleet of over 4,000 vehicles and was the first taxi company in the UAE to transition to a fully hybrid and compressed natural gas (CNG) model—a testament to its commitment to sustainability and the UAE Vision 2030 green agenda.

Under Badr’s guidance, Kabi has become a benchmark for operational excellence, innovation, and environmental responsibility, helping set new industry standards across the region.

Beyond mobility, Badr also leads Al Ghurair Ventures, the Group’s diversified portfolio spanning printing, retail, education, travel, and emerging sectors, while steering the organization’s long-term diversification and growth strategy.

His governance roles include serving as Chairman of Sukoon Insurance and Board Member of National Cement Company, where he continues to influence decision-making and strategic expansion initiatives.

Previously, as CEO of Al Ghurair Construction, Badr expanded the company’s footprint into Saudi Arabia, India, and Qatar, driving regional growth and innovation. His earlier career includes senior leadership positions at Dubai Holding before joining the Al Ghurair Group in 2006.

An alumnus of Boston University, Badr holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics. A passionate advocate for innovation, sustainability, and human-centric design, he envisions a mobility ecosystem that not only enhances transportation but also strengthens social and economic connectivity across the UAE.
