EGA shows solidarity for SYRIAN refugees

In an effort to reduce the suffering of Syrian refugees, Emirates Global Aluminium ("EGA") has conducted a collection drive to collect blankets and winter clothing from workers across its Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah sites. Employees were able to provide their donations to 24 collection points throughout business, with all products segregated by EGA volunteers. An overall of 619 blankets and 126 boxes of warm clothes were handed over to Emirates Red Crescent on 24 February.

Continuing EGA's on-going assistance for Syrian refugees, this year's initiative follows an AED 1 million corporate donation in January 2015; and a food, clothing and blankets collection program in February 2014 that netted five tonnes of products for Syrians displaced from their houses.

"As a company with worldwide reach, we are committed to supporting neighborhoods and humanitarian causes beyond the UAE. Among our corporate values is to "provide" and we non-stop make every effort to ensure the health and wellbeing of those around us by making a favorable impact. We really hope that our latest collection project makes a worthwhile contribution to the praiseworthy work of the Emirates Red Crescent, an organisation we have been pleased to support for a variety of years," said Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO: EGA).
