Dubai’s RTA Announces 2-Month Traffic Diversion on E311 Starting June 28

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a two-month traffic diversion on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), near the Al Barari Underpass, beginning Saturday, June 28, 2025. The temporary diversion is part of an ongoing infrastructure enhancement project aimed at improving rainwater and groundwater drainage systems as well as road resurfacing in the area.

The RTA urges motorists to plan their routes and use alternative paths to avoid potential delays. Suggested alternate routes include:

  • The Dubai–Al Ain Bridge (U-turn towards Jebel Ali)

  • The Global Village Underpass and Umm Suqeim Street intersection (U-turn towards Sharjah)

The diversion is expected to last until late August 2025, and is part of Dubai’s broader effort to boost road efficiency and drainage capacity during seasonal rains.

Meanwhile, Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has also announced a full road closure from Al Intifada Street to Al Corniche Street, starting Friday, June 27 and continuing until Sunday, July 27, as part of the first phase of an infrastructure development project.

In Abu Dhabi, traffic will be partially affected on Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street from June 27 to June 30, with a temporary closure of the free right turn to Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Street from 12am on June 27 until 5am on June 30.

Motorists across the UAE are advised to stay updated with local traffic announcements and allow additional travel time during this period of road improvement works.
