Dubai showcases academic excellence at the European Association for International Education 2025 conference in Sweden

Dubai reaffirmed its status as a leading global hub for higher education through its participation in the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition 2025, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 9 to 12.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), along with Dubai Knowledge Park (DKP) and Dubai International Academic City (DIAC)—the education sector of TECOM Group—represented the emirate under the “Study in Dubai” pavilion. The delegation highlighted Dubai’s expanding higher education landscape and its alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the Dubai Education Strategy 2033.

Dr. Wafi Dawood, CEO of the Strategic Development Sector at KHDA, said:
“Dubai has become one of the most attractive destinations for international higher education, with the emirate boasting the largest number of international university campuses of any city in the world. With 40 universities from 15 countries, students benefit from the diversity, quality, and flexibility of Dubai’s education system. Combined with its reputation as one of the safest cities, accessible study visas, and holistic lifestyle, Dubai remains a preferred choice for ambitious learners and global institutions.”

Dubai’s European student community has witnessed remarkable growth, with enrolment increasing by more than 30% during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Eng. Rawan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of TECOM Group – DKP and DIAC, noted:
“Our leading educational destinations provide integrated learning environments that attract elite international academics and students from around the world. The consistent growth of our student community reinforces Dubai’s position as an academic hub, preparing future generations with the skills and perspectives necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment.”

As part of the conference, Dubai’s delegation showcased its partnerships with world-renowned universities and institutions, including Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Birmingham, Strathclyde Business School, and EM Normandy Business School. Collectively, these institutions strengthen the emirate’s international academic offering and reinforce its role in shaping the future of education.

Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City form two of TECOM Group’s ten specialist business communities. Together, they contribute to Dubai’s efforts to advance knowledge, innovation, and talent development in line with long-term national strategies.
