Dubai Refresher PJSC "DRC", owner, sole producer and distributor of PepsiCo products in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates, The Dubai Green Industry Award, presented by Dubai Exports in cooperation with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority "DEWA", Etihad Energy Services and the Dubai Energy Efficiency Program "TAQATI", topped the 2019 Dubai Global Industry Award.

This special award is a continuation of Dubai Innovation's efforts to ensure operational excellence and environmental sustainability, reduce energy and water use by more than 20%, and reduce the company's carbon footprint by over 4,000 tonnes.

Three years ago, DRC opened a LEED Certified Factory at Dubai Investment Park 2, built with the highest industrial design standards and equipped with the latest technologies.

Promising the transition to renewable energy, DRC uses 11,000 solar PV panels to produce nearly one-third of the company's energy needs, as well as 300 solar water-heating panels to provide hot water supply to meet operational needs.

In addition, the wastewater treatment plant used by the DRC contributes significantly to reducing the consumption of natural resources by refining and treating the industrial wastewater and reusing it for irrigation and truck washing. In addition, the company's central refrigeration unit plays a key role in providing the cold water supply needed for manufacturing, offices and air conditioning needs. The TRC is very proud of winning this important award, and it is a way for others to follow.
