Dubai Airports Gears Up for Peak Summer Travel, Expects Over 3.4 Million Passengers
Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s busiest hub for international passengers, is preparing for a surge in travel demand as the summer holiday period approaches. According to Dubai Airports, over 3.4 million passengers are expected to pass through DXB between June 27 and July 9, 2025, with daily passenger numbers averaging 265,000.
The airport has identified Friday, July 5 as the busiest travel day, with high volumes anticipated in both departures and transit traffic.
This announcement follows a similar advisory by Emirates Airlines, which expects more than 30,000 departing passengers daily from June 26 to June 30. The airline has issued reminders to travelers about using online check-in and early baggage drop services to ease airport congestion.
Full Operations Resume After Temporary Suspension
Earlier in the week, flight schedules experienced temporary disruptions due to an Iranian missile attack targeting US military bases in Qatar. Dubai Airports has since confirmed that full operations have resumed across its terminals, with Emirates Airline reporting minimal impact and a quick return to normal service.
Travel Advisory for Passengers
To ensure smoother airport experiences during the peak period, Dubai Airports has issued several recommendations:
-
Arrive no earlier than three hours before your scheduled flight.
-
Use Smart Gates for expedited passport control, especially for families and children over 12.
-
Leverage self-service kiosks and online check-in for faster processing.
-
Drop off baggage at designated self-service bag drop counters where available.
The airport operator emphasized the importance of following travel guidelines and checking real-time updates via official channels to avoid delays.
With millions set to travel through DXB over the next two weeks, authorities are working to streamline operations and manage crowd flows efficiently during one of the busiest periods of the year.
