du has announced a strategic collaboration with QuantumGate to bring post-quantum security capabilities to du Tech’s National Hypercloud, with the partnership endorsed by the UAE Cyber Security Council.
Announced at GISEC Global 2026, the collaboration is aimed at strengthening the UAE’s cyber resilience and helping government and critical entities prepare for the potential risks that quantum computing could pose to existing public-key cryptography.
Post-quantum security on national infrastructure
Under the collaboration, QuantumGate’s quantum-safe technology will operate on du Tech’s National Hypercloud, allowing cybersecurity capabilities to be delivered through infrastructure located within the UAE.
The arrangement is designed to keep sensitive data, cryptographic keys and control of the security infrastructure within the country.
du will commercialise QuantumGate’s technology to government entities across the UAE, while QuantumGate will provide post-quantum expertise and technical enablement.
The partnership brings together three elements of digital security: national infrastructure through du Tech’s National Hypercloud, post-quantum cryptography through QuantumGate, and national cybersecurity oversight through the UAE Cyber Security Council.
According to the companies, the combination provides government entities with a pathway to strengthen the protection of sensitive information as cybersecurity requirements evolve.
Preparing for the post-quantum era
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government and Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, said preparing for the post-quantum era is part of strengthening the country’s long-term cyber resilience.
He said government and critical infrastructure systems need to evolve alongside emerging technologies while maintaining national control over sensitive data and security capabilities.
Jasim Al Awadi, Chief ICT Officer of du, said the collaboration focuses not only on where data is stored but also on how it is protected and who controls the security architecture surrounding it.
He said the National Hypercloud and QuantumGate’s technology would provide government entities with national infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities as they prepare for emerging digital risks.
Supporting government and enterprise customers
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, said advanced security capabilities need to be supported by appropriate infrastructure.
She said bringing QuantumGate’s post-quantum capabilities to the National Hypercloud would give government and enterprise customers an option to strengthen cyber resilience while keeping data, cryptographic keys and security control within the UAE.
Post-quantum security is becoming an increasing consideration for governments and critical organisations as advances in quantum computing could create challenges for some cryptographic methods currently used to protect digital information.
The du-QuantumGate collaboration is intended to give UAE entities access to technologies designed to address these longer-term cybersecurity considerations.
Building secure national digital infrastructure
The memorandum builds on du’s continued focus on cloud and cybersecurity through its National Hypercloud.
The partnership also supports the development of national digital infrastructure designed to meet the security and data requirements of government and critical entities, while contributing to the UAE’s broader digital transformation ambitions.
