Digital Dubai has launched “DigiPro”, a new initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of information and communications technology (ICT) professionals across Dubai Government and preparing them to respond to rapidly evolving technologies, cybersecurity risks and operational challenges.
The initiative is part of Digital Dubai’s wider efforts to support government digital transformation by developing a skilled ICT workforce capable of designing, operating, securing and improving government systems and platforms.
Focus on specialised ICT skills
DigiPro will provide ICT practitioners and managers with practical knowledge, advanced tools and industry best practices to help them address emerging technology and cybersecurity risks and make informed engineering and operational decisions.
The programme targets professionals working across areas including cybersecurity, application development, IT operations, network engineering and digital resilience.
Digital Dubai said the initiative is intended to contribute to the quality, resilience and continuity of government services by strengthening the technical capabilities of the teams responsible for critical digital infrastructure and platforms.
Interactive sessions begin in September
DigiPro begins in September 2026 with a series of interactive webinars featuring practical expertise, global practices, case studies and lessons learned.
The sessions will help participating ICT teams understand emerging risks, become familiar with relevant controls and preventive measures, and apply industry practices to their day-to-day responsibilities.
Topics covered during 2026 include Digital Identity and the Zero Trust model, third-party risk management, secure software development, business continuity and disaster recovery, backup management, and data restoration.
The initiative is being delivered in collaboration with global and specialist technology partners, bringing external expertise and current practices to Dubai Government technology teams.
Part of wider digital transformation efforts
DigiPro is aligned with Digital Dubai’s AI+ initiative, which aims to train 50,000 employees across Dubai Government and support the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Together, the initiatives form part of Digital Dubai’s broader approach to developing digital capabilities across government. The programmes seek to strengthen workforce readiness while supporting the use of AI and other technologies to improve government operations and services.
People at the centre of digital transformation
H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said developing human capabilities is essential to sustaining Dubai’s digital transformation as technology continues to evolve.
He said Digital Dubai is investing in people alongside technology to ensure government professionals have the knowledge and capabilities required to use technology effectively and responsibly.
Al Mansoori added that DigiPro reflects Digital Dubai’s role in developing an ICT workforce that can anticipate risks, respond to changing challenges and make effective technology decisions.
According to Digital Dubai, strengthening the capabilities of ICT professionals will also support operational resilience, service continuity and confidence in the government’s digital ecosystem.
The initiative reflects the emirate’s approach of combining technology, skilled professionals and established practices to build a resilient and sustainable digital environment across Dubai Government.
