DMCA to introduce comprehensive portfolio of maritime licensing services at Dubai International Boat Show 2016

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) is poised to introduce an integrated portfolio of maritime licensing services on the side lines of its upcoming participation at Dubai International Boat Show 2016 from March 1 to 5, 2016 at the Dubai International Marine Club in Mina Seyahi. This move belongs to DMCA's efforts to assist in maritime licensing, an essential pillar for smooth management of maritime operations in accordance with the greatest requirements of occupational safety, best environmental practices, and local and international regulations.

As part of its participation in the 24th edition of the flagship local marine high-end, leisure and way of life market event, DMCA's pavilion will showcase an unified and incorporated platform where tests for aquatic craft driving license can be conducted and all type of licensing procedures can be finished rapidly and easily. Prior to an aquatic license is issued, an authorized group will validate if all technical specifications, provisions of maritime safety policies, and local environmental demands are satisfied in accordance with the unified international requirements. The action belongs to the continuous efforts to enhance the performance, security, efficiency, and competitiveness of Dubai's maritime sector.

DMCA's Executive Director, Amer Ali said that maritime licensing mechanisms are particularly crucial since they are created to organize, provide and establish the sector in line with the local, regional and global patterns. He mentioned that DMCA will work in pursuance of Resolution No. 11 of 2013 to provide Implementing Regulations (IR) of Resolution No. 11 of 2010 for licensing of commercial and recreational aquatic crafts and of conventional wooden boats in Dubai.

Adel Kalanter, Director - Registration and Licensing, DMCA, stated: "2015 has seen a remarkable demand for licensing marine crafts and teams. A total of 1,623 licenses were released for various kinds of aquatic crafts and 2,396 licenses for aquatic crews by the end of December. This development was driven by our innovative services and new centers, among others, developed to attain the highest levels of complete satisfaction and happiness of our clients along with integrate all elements of maritime security, safe navigation and operational effectiveness off Dubai coastlines.".

Ali concluded: "Last year's favorable results have encouraged us to even more improve customer support through world-class aquatic licensing mechanisms. Throughout the occasion, we will feature services, centers and efforts to achieve our objective of positioning Dubai as a world-class international maritime hub.".
