Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured a number of its staff who won the Excellence Messages Quiz, which measures employees understanding of excellence concepts and criteria, and honoured staff in the best cable jointers category for the 2nd quarter of 2014. Honouring the staff is part of DEWAs efforts to encourage excellence, develop work, improve performance, provide an optimal environment for creativity, and recognise the efforts of its distinguished staff.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, honoured the staff at DEWAs headquarters, in the presence of DEWA staff.

We follow the footsteps of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to take care of our staff and value their efforts to raise job performance levels. This will contribute to improve government services and make people happier in our country. Today, we are glad to honour winners of the Excellence Messages Quiz, which instils the concept and culture of organisational excellence among staff. We are also glad to honour winners of the Best Cable Jointers category. These are the technicians who do their best and work hard and efficiently for the speedy completion of projects under all circumstances according to the highest international standards, said Al Tayer.

"DEWA motivates its employees and encourages them to excel in performing their duties in a stimulating environment that encourages creativity and excellence. We provide all facilities to improve their skills and excellence, which in turn enhances the success and excellence of DEWA. We make sure we recognise distinguished staff at all job levels and divisions, said Al Akraf.

DEWAs Business Excellence department launched a quarterly quiz for staff about its excellence messages disseminated over the previous three months. This promotes awareness about organisational excellence and the need to uphold a culture of excellence among staff at all levels to contribute to achieving the vision and strategic objectives of DEWA.

The honoured staff members who won the Excellence Messages Quiz were Mohammed Milhem, Abdul Azeem Mohammad, and Amel Al Obaidli. The Best Cable Jointers from the Project Execution Department of Distribution Power were Faizan Ahmad, Adarson Perumal, Shajahan Kunju, and Somarajan Gopi.
