CLYMB™ Yas Island to host second official EEIPC 2026 World Skydiving Championships

CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the European Air Sports Association (EASA) and the Emirates Aerosports Federation (EAF), will host the Second Official EEIPC 2026 World Skydiving Championships from January 15 to 18, 2026.

The four-day championship will bring together more than 250 elite indoor skydivers from over 30 countries at the world’s largest indoor skydiving flight chamber, positioning Abu Dhabi as a global hub for competitive indoor aerial sports. Marking a significant milestone for the region, the event will, for the first time, feature athletes from the United Arab Emirates competing on home soil alongside the world’s leading indoor skydivers.

The championships are open to the public, with free entry and family-friendly programming, offering spectators the opportunity to witness high-speed, high-precision aerial performances in a controlled indoor environment.

Athletes will compete across five disciplines that test speed, agility, coordination and teamwork. These include the 3rd International Skydiving 16-way Double Event, where teams of sixteen execute complex formation sequences, and the 2nd International Indoor Skydiving 8-way Event, which focuses on advanced technical routines.

The Aerial Indoor Racing World Championships will challenge teams to navigate inflatable airway dividers at high speeds, adding a competitive racing element to the programme. Two new disciplines will also debut at EEIPC 2026. The 1st International Indoor Skydiving 4-way Battle Event introduces an all-female head-to-head format, with two teams flying simultaneously and winners determined through live judging. The 1st Vertical Sequentials 8-way Event will showcase synchronized routines featuring dynamic transitions and full formation flips.

Commenting on the event, Hussein Al-Hassni, General Manager of CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi, said hosting the championships reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for international sporting events. He added that the combination of world-class facilities and elite athletes will deliver an engaging experience for both participants and spectators.

With global participation, new competitive formats and local representation for the first time, the EEIPC 2026 World Skydiving Championships are expected to highlight the UAE’s growing role in the development of indoor skydiving and international aerial sports.
