Class of Your Own Announces School Curriculum Partnership with Bentley Systems

Class of Your Own, a UK-headquartered provider of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) curriculum and built environment-focused learning programs for secondary school students, today announced a partnership with leading provider of software solutions globally for the construction, design, and operations infrastructure, Bentley Systems. The future-focused new global curriculum, Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) for the Worlds Infrastructure, over several years has developed through Bentley Institutes support of Class of Your Owns DEC programs and offers opportunities for the students to gain hands-on skills and knowledge for careers in infrastructure professions.

DEC is presently recognized and followed in schools in The United Kingdom. The new program is already expanding into schools in The United Arab Emirates Lithuania, Thailand and Ireland presents technology education and project-based, real-world knowledge through interaction with industry professionals. The DEC curriculum for students ages 11 to 18 years is offered at intermediate levels to encourage and excite learners and is enhanced by Bentleys engineering design and 3D modeling technologies including Context Capture, Open Buildings, Open Rail, and Open Roads Concept Station. The well advanced Future Infrastructure qualification agenda, for students ages group sixteen and above, including foundation level study at colleges and universities, focuses on hyperloop, port, highway and rail projects.

The first ever Future Infrastructure Challenge: DEC Hyperloop challenge in London hosted by Bentley Institute and Class of Your Own. The event included students from four schools in the UK whose assignment was to conceptualize a design of a hyperloop transport system and stations for their own towns, and then to adapt to Singapore. In the challenge, students from Drummond Community High School from Edinburgh, Scotland were won and awarded a complimentary trip from Bentley to attend its Year in Infrastructure Conference, held October 21 through 24 in Singapore.
