Residents across the UAE can expect a mix of high temperatures and a chance of rainfall on Saturday, August 8, as convective clouds are forecast to develop over parts of the country.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will be generally fair to partly cloudy, with convective cloud formations expected over some eastern and southern areas. The clouds may extend towards inland regions, bringing a possibility of rain in some locations.

Temperatures to reach 49°C

Despite the possibility of rainfall, temperatures will remain extremely high across the UAE.

Temperatures could climb to 49°C in some parts of the country. Dubai is forecast to record a high of around 45°C, while temperatures in Abu Dhabi could reach 46°C.

The combination of high temperatures and humidity may make conditions feel hotter, particularly during the afternoon.

Winds may reach 50kmph

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, generally blowing from the southeast to northeast. They may become fresh to strong at times, particularly in areas affected by cloud activity.

Wind speeds are expected to range between 10kmph and 25kmph, but could increase to 50kmph in some areas.

The stronger winds may also lead to blowing dust and reduced visibility in affected locations.

Sea conditions remain slight

Marine conditions are expected to remain relatively calm, with the sea forecast to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Residents and motorists are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in areas experiencing cloud development, rain or stronger winds.

The combination of intense summer heat, possible showers and shifting wind conditions is expected to make Saturday a varied weather day across the UAE.
