CDAs Dubai Volunteer Centre joins forces to support 8th Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre

As a cultural celebration that brings together the community, the eighth edition of the Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre, organised by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is also promoting the spirit of volunteering among UAE residents.

The Dubai Volunteer Centre, part of the Community Development Authority (CDA) has joined forces to support the Festival with a number of volunteers from diverse walks of life serving as the Friends of the Festival. They undertake diverse functions from greeting guests to assisting talents and ensuring the seamless conduct of the plays that are being held at the Cultural & Scientific Association in Al Mamzar until November 20.

The Volunteers helped in setting up a welcome desk to register guests and provide important information pertaining to the event. They extend continuous on-ground support throughout the ten-day programme for both guests and the organisers of the festival.

The Dubai Volunteer Centre is also promoting the Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre on various social media platforms using the hashtag #DFYT2014. Volunteers are engaging with the community to ensure that all social media channels are updated with the latest happenings at the festival including highlights of the shows and their timings.

The collaboration of Dubai Culture and CDA underlines the focus of the Dubai Governmental entities to work together to further promote the citys social, cultural and economic growth.

The eighth edition of the Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre showcases five compelling plays in classical Arabic, with simultaneous English translation provided to attract a wider audience.
