The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and London Business School (LBS) have announced 10 executive education scholarships for Emirati women as part of DIFC’s Emirati Women’s Month celebrations.
The initiative will provide Emirati women from the DIFC community with access to LBS Executive Education Open programmes, supporting professional development, leadership skills and career progression.
10 scholarships for Emirati women
The scholarships form part of the DIFC Academy’s 20th year of providing executive and academic education and its wider efforts to connect talent with leading global educational institutions.
Recipients will have the opportunity to participate in LBS executive education programmes designed to help professionals develop new capabilities, strengthen leadership skills and advance their careers.
According to the institutions, LBS’s Open Executive Education programmes were ranked first globally by the Financial Times for the second consecutive year, while its Custom Executive Education programmes ranked second worldwide.
Initiative concludes Emirati Women’s Month
The scholarship announcement marks the conclusion of DIFC’s Emirati Women’s Month, held from August 28 to September 28 under the theme “Together We Rise Stronger and Better.”
The programme reflects DIFC’s broader focus on supporting women through education, professional development, leadership opportunities and access to professional networks and mentors.
Alya Alzarouni, Chief Operating Officer of DIFC Authority, said the partnership would provide Emirati women with access to executive education while supporting their participation in the UAE’s economy.
She added that the initiative complements other DIFC programmes aimed at creating professional and networking opportunities for women across the DIFC community.
DIFC Academy expands executive education network
DIFC Academy has developed a network of universities, business schools and professional education providers offering programmes in areas including finance, management, law, sustainability and future skills.
The Academy aims to support human capital development in Dubai and the wider region through executive and academic education.
London Business School has been part of the DIFC education ecosystem for nearly two decades. The school established its first campus outside London in Dubai in 2007, marking a significant step in its international expansion.
Its Dubai campus is located within DIFC Academy and is scheduled to mark its 20th anniversary in 2027.
LBS to support future business leaders
Sergei Guriev, Dean of London Business School, said the school was pleased to partner with DIFC and DIFC Academy to support the development of Emirati women and future business leaders in the UAE.
He said the scholarships would provide participants with access to business education and the LBS global network.
Women in Business Week adds to DIFC programme
The scholarship initiative forms part of a wider programme led by the DIFC Innovation Hub, including Women in Business Week.
The programme brings together women across the DIFC community for discussions and events covering technology, finance, entrepreneurship, innovation, personal branding and the future of business.
Sessions include Women Behind the Code, BuildHers of Tomorrow, Women Powering Finance and Women Building Influence.
Through these programmes, DIFC said it aims to expand opportunities for women to develop skills, build professional networks and contribute to Dubai and the UAE’s economic development.
