Azizi Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Azizi Developments and part of Azizi Group, is progressing with the development of a five-star hotel in Azizi Riviera, Meydan, with the property scheduled to open in mid-2028.

The hotel is part of Azizi Hospitality’s broader expansion plans following the company’s announcement of an AED 75 billion investment programme covering 151 hotels across the UAE, predominantly in Dubai.

The planned portfolio is expected to deliver around 60,000 hotel rooms and create more than 75,000 jobs.

Construction work underway

Construction of the Azizi Riviera hotel has already begun, with excavation and foundation works currently underway ahead of the main structural construction, façade installation and interior fit-out.

The hotel is being designed to combine accommodation, dining, wellness, leisure and family-oriented facilities. Planned amenities include Italian and Asian restaurants, wellness facilities, a children’s club, gym and landscaped outdoor areas.

Azizi Hospitality is also developing a full-scale mock-up of a guest room, corridor and lift lobby. The model will allow the project team to assess the layout, materials, circulation and overall guest experience before the designs are implemented throughout the property.

Focus on operations and guest experience

Alongside construction, Azizi Hospitality is developing the hotel’s operating model and guest journey, including food and beverage concepts, wellness services, technology, service standards, procurement and pre-opening preparations.

Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Group, said the company was focusing on details that shape the guest experience, from the flow of spaces to lighting and the overall atmosphere of the property.

Saurabh Bakshi, CEO of Azizi Hospitality, said the hotel’s operations and guest experience were being developed alongside the physical construction.

He said the mock-up room would allow the team to test elements of the guest experience and refine them before the project reaches its final stages.

Next stages of development

The next phases will include the main structural build and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, followed by interior fit-out, furniture and fittings and operational equipment.

The final phase will focus on preparing the property for operation, including testing systems and completing pre-opening requirements ahead of the planned mid-2028 launch.

The hotel will form part of Azizi Hospitality’s growing portfolio of four-star, five-star and seven-star developments.

The company is also planning a seven-star hotel within Burj Azizi, a proposed tower that Azizi says is set to become the world’s second-tallest tower.
