AURAK Signs Extra Cooperation Agreement with Appalachian State University

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) and Appalachian State University in the United States have signed an addendum to a preceding agreement to extend their cooperation.

AURAK and Appalachian State University will establish a 3+1 Student Transfer Program (TSP). After successfully completing the first three years of an undergraduate curriculum for a Bachelors degree in Business with a major in Hospitality Management at AURAK, certified students will be admitted into the Walker College of Businesss Department of Management to pursue Hospitality Management courses. Under the TSP, students will study for one year at Appalachian State University and complete required Hospitality Management courses to qualify for their Bachelors degree in Management awarded by AURAK.

President of AURAK, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, signed the agreement, along with the Chancellor of Appalachian State University, Sheri Everts.

AURAK is delighted to deepen its cooperation with Appalachian State University. This program will support our students deepen their education, increase their experience and allow them to choose up essential life skills. Spending an prolonged duration abroad will also help students to know about different cultures and how to work with people from various backgrounds, Prof. Hassan said.
The agreement is due to be legitimate for a duration of 5 years. AURAK and Appalachian State University have been cooperating for quite a few years.

Appalachian State University provides a challenging academic environment and lively campus life. Known for its affordability, Appalachian enrolls about 18,000 students and presents more than 150 undergraduate and graduate majors. Small classes and close interactions between faculty and students create a sturdy feel of community. Appalachian, located in Boone, North Carolina, is one of sixteen universities in the University of North Carolina system.

AURAK is licensed by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates and has been approved in the United States of America by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) from December 2018. AURAK provides a total of 22 certified undergraduate and graduate programs throughout a wide range of disciplines.
