Aster DM Healthcare partners with World Padel Academy to promote health and wellness through sport

Aster DM Healthcare, one of the GCC’s largest integrated healthcare providers, has announced a strategic partnership with World Padel Academy (WPA) aimed at promoting health, wellness and active lifestyles through sport. The collaboration brings together healthcare expertise and sports innovation to support athletes, enthusiasts and the wider community.

As part of the partnership, Medcare and Aster Pharmacy will serve as the official Health and Wellness Partners of World Padel Academy. The initiative represents a first-of-its-kind collaboration in the region, integrating preventive healthcare, recovery, nutrition and performance enhancement within a dedicated sports ecosystem.

Padel has seen rapid growth across the UAE, supported by strong government backing, increased private investment and the sport’s inclusive and social appeal. Dubai is now home to more than 950 padel courts and nearly 300 clubs, reflecting the city’s growing enthusiasm for the game. The partnership aligns with Aster DM Healthcare’s commitment to supporting sports that encourage physical fitness, community engagement and preventive wellness.

The collaboration was formally inaugurated by senior representatives from both organisations, marking the start of joint efforts to foster holistic wellness and athletic performance. Under the agreement, Aster DM Healthcare will provide on-call physiotherapy, rehabilitation and recovery services throughout the year, including during tournaments. The partnership will also extend support to WPA Junior Academy Open Days.

In addition, Aster will deliver bespoke health services during social matches and host monthly health screening campaigns. An on-court Aster Pharmacy wellness kiosk at WPA Dubai will offer sports nutrition products and wellness consultations. Both organisations will also collaborate on community outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including health-focused tournaments and awareness programmes for Children of Determination and other key causes.

Commenting on the partnership, Rahul Kadavakolu, Group Chief Marketing Officer at Aster DM Healthcare, said the collaboration reflects a shared vision to empower communities through preventive care, fitness and wellness. He noted that padel’s growing global recognition, including its inclusion in the Asian Games and aspirations toward the 2032 Olympic Games, presents an opportunity to support the sport through science-backed healthcare services.

Ali Al Arif, CEO of World Padel Academy, said the partnership reinforces WPA’s commitment to athlete well-being and community health, adding that the collaboration aims to redefine how sports and healthcare can work together to inspire positive lifestyle changes.

The partnership underscores both organisations’ focus on innovation, preventive care and community engagement, setting a new benchmark for collaboration between the healthcare and sports sectors in the UAE.
