TRENDS Research & Advisory has confirmed that its fifth annual conference on sustainable water security will take place on September 2 and 3 at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Canal, Abu Dhabi.

Themed “Sustainable Water Security: Shaping a Water-Secure Future Through Innovation and Knowledge”, the two-day event will bring together 33 officials, researchers, international experts, and representatives from regional and global organisations, in addition to youth participants.

An accompanying exhibition will highlight pioneering projects and technologies designed to advance sustainable water management.

Addressing urgent global challenges

The conference will focus on pressing challenges related to water security, while also presenting solutions, policies, and innovations to ensure sustainable practices amid climate change, economic pressures, and rising social demands.

Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, who will chair the event, described water security as “an existential issue that transcends geography and politics, shaping the present and future of humanity.”

He added that the forum reflects TRENDS’ commitment to fostering global and regional cooperation on water-related challenges, while also building stronger partnerships between think tanks, policymakers, and international organisations.

Strategic platform for knowledge and cooperation

According to TRENDS, the annual conference serves as a strategic platform to exchange expertise, promote knowledge-based solutions, and drive innovation in tackling water-related issues. The event aims to support decision-makers with actionable insights that contribute to building a more water-secure future.
