Yas Waterworld Expansion Set to Open July 1, Bringing 20 New Rides and Attractions to Abu Dhabi

Yas Waterworld, one of Abu Dhabi’s premier waterparks, is set to unveil its much-anticipated expansion on July 1, according to an announcement by Miral, the park’s developer and asset manager. Located on Yas Island, the new extension adds 13,445 square metres of themed aquatic fun, making it the largest expansion in the park’s history.

The upgraded zone introduces the ‘Lost City’ theme — a creative continuation of Yas Waterworld’s original narrative, The Legend of the Lost Pearl. This immersive experience will feature 20 new rides, slides, and attractions, along with new dining options, further enhancing the park’s reputation as a leading destination for family-friendly adventure.

Highlights of the New Rides and Attractions

  • Al Mafras: A kid-friendly twisting desert water slide ending with a splash landing.

  • Red Dunes: A closed aqua tube slide offering adrenaline-pumping twists and turns.

  • Al Falaj Race: The region’s first side-by-side dueling tube raft ride, complete with high-speed drops and competitive thrills.

  • Al Sahel Junior: The first mini zero-gravity boomerango ride in the region, designed especially for younger thrill-seekers.

  • Dawwama Junior: A smaller version of the iconic tornado slide, suitable for kids.

Other new additions include:

  • Mataha Madness

  • Sadaf Swirl

  • Bahamut’s Rage

  • Bandit’s Playground

A Waterpark Experience Like No Other

With this expansion, Yas Waterworld now offers over 60 rides, slides, and attractions, making it one of the most extensive waterparks in the Middle East. Designed to cater to guests of all ages, the expansion reaffirms Yas Island’s status as a premier entertainment hub.

The announcement comes at the perfect time, just ahead of the summer break, giving families and thrill-seekers new reasons to visit or return to the park.
