Music, Fireworks, Gold: Dubai Set to Glow with Diwali Prizes Worth Dh500,000
Dubai has come alive with the spirit of Diwali as the city kicks off ten days of dazzling festivities featuring music, fireworks, and glittering prizes worth Dh500,000. The annual Festival of Lights 2025, organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), runs from October 17 to 26, uniting residents and tourists from more than 200 nationalities in celebration.
The festivities began on Friday evening with lively musical performances by popular Indian artists, setting the tone for a vibrant citywide celebration. Dubai’s landmarks, shopping destinations, and waterfront venues are decked out in colourful lights, creating a spectacular atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and community spirit.
Mohammed Feras, Senior Executive at DFRE, said this year’s Diwali celebrations are “bigger and brighter than ever before,” reflecting Dubai’s cultural diversity and festive energy. “The entire city will glow with lights, music, and happiness. From spectacular fireworks to dazzling shopping offers, residents and visitors can experience the true essence of the Festival of Lights across Dubai,” he added.
As part of the festivities, visitors can participate in exciting raffles and giveaways with a total prize pool of nearly Dh500,000. Shoppers can enjoy exclusive retail discounts, special dining experiences, and themed entertainment across malls and event venues.
Satish Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, praised the celebration for fostering cultural harmony between India and the UAE. “It’s heartening to see Indian traditions celebrated on such a grand scale, embraced by people of all nationalities. Events like these strengthen our cultural ties and open new avenues for cooperation, tourism, and mutual growth,” he said.
The celebrations feature fireworks at Souk Al Seef and Global Village on the weekends of October 17–18 and 24–25, offering breathtaking displays that have already drawn large crowds. Residents have been sharing photos and videos of the fireworks from their balconies, adding to the citywide excitement.
