Sir your order is here The delivery boys in Dubai

You are nailed to your seat with an urgent work assigned or maybe caught up with friends at home, and in some time your stomach starts growling for food. What do you do? Obviously, you pick up the phone, dial up some restaurant and order the food you want. Within minutes the food gets delivered at your doorsteps! Most of the times, just as the aforementioned sentence, we miss out on the most essential part of this whole process the delivery boys.

All we bother about are our hunger and the time within which we are delivered with the food. We have little time to think about the delivery boys who speed through the busy crowded roads of Dubai turning themselves into Superheroes on the two wheels to get us the food before its too late. The delivery boys in Dubai do a brilliant job managing hundreds and hundreds of orders in a single day, racing their way to different locations, often riding from one end to the other to make sure that the food reaches them on time. All of us might have come across these heroes on the road as they wiggle out on the two wheels through the nooks and crannies in between large vehicles.

These people demand real appreciation for their impeccable time management. It is a wonder how they manage to reach different locations and deliver the food without messing up on the orders. Acknowledging their safety on the road, the UAE government had issued guidelines, which specified the size of the box as 50x50x50 cm maximum, and that it be firmly fixed with edges in circular shape while making sure that it doesnt protrude beyond the rear-end of the bike so as to avoid the risk of misbalancing the bike. Also, the guidelines demanded that the delivery box be tightly fitted with interior lights on all sides.

The box should be made of plastic with no sharp edges. These guidelines have been put forth to assure the safety of these men on the roads as they ride past heavy traffic. It is important to realize that these men are under constant pressure to reach far-off locations within the time-limit to assure customer satisfaction. The pressure can come from both ends: the managers who are concerned about their customers as well as from the customers who cant hold their hunger any longer.

The success of a delivery boy lies in shooting the right balance between these two. And most of the times they do put up an outstanding job that must be admitted and appreciated! So next time when the doorbell rings. Greet your delivery boy with a smile as a small token of gratitude or even better, you could offer him a glass of juice! These subtle kind gestures from us can brighten up their day all of a sudden rather than our disdain, complaining about the 5 minutes of delay.
