As Mr. Ramesh takes a short respite from a meeting, Day of Dubai catches up with him before he jumps into the next. A bag full of experiences Ramesh started his eventful journey years back when he was first appointed in UVI Holidays Mumbai, handling charters. Driven by curiosity and further fuelled by hard work, Ramesh grasped knowledge quickly and proved to be a great team member with his extensive enthusiasm in work. After 19 years of working in India, a job offer fell on my lap, all the way from Oman, Ramesh recalls the turning point, and I landed at a job with the famous Shanfari Group. After almost 2 years, I grew impatient and desperate to do something different and I flew to Dubai. Once landed in Dubai, I got employed at different firms, going on to become the Branch Manager of Orient Tours Sharjah. The changing-scenario continued as I moved from one company to another, during which I gained a lot of knowledge about the scope and functioning of a travel agency in the Gulf. Realizing a dream After a lot of hardship and overcoming many barriers, I was ready to open up a company Discovery Travel for RP Group Of Companies. As the person behind it, I wanted to put in my full potential to deliver the best to our customers. We faced stiff competition at the tender stage. But instead of backing out, we overpowered our competitors. Many of them are no more in the industry. Today we are a Travel Agency standing high-headed in the sphere of Travel & Tourism, which has been possible only because of our steadfast efforts. Discovery Travel 11 years back, when I started off with Discovery Travel, I had just one staff employed here. I used to work 18 hours a day during those times. Today I have lost the count of my staff with the number surpassing 50. Currently, Discovery Travel is one of the fastest growing Destination & Leisure Management Companies in Dubai. A funny and jovial person, however, he calls himself a workaholic owing to his not-so-keen approach to entertainments. I do not entertain myself so much. Work and home together make up my life. And in that world of mine, I find contentment and happiness.
