Ministry of Health and Prevention Performs First Successful Cochlear Implant of Help me hear Program

The ENT Group of Al Qassimi Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Avoidance (MOHAP), sustained by Dr. Hussain Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for Hospital and Clinics MOHAP, has successfully carried out cochlear dental implant surgery for a two-year old Indian girl struggling with hearing loss of sensory nerves because birth. The operation is the initial treatment under the Ministry's 'Help me hear' campaign.

According to the Ministry, the electronic device was implanted in the child's internal ear, which will be followed with one more procedure to place a speech processor. Once the surgical treatments are full, the youngster will be able to hear for the very first time.

Dr. Al Rand shared that MOHAP is continuing its strategic initiatives to attain lasting health for the UAE community based on the highest possible worldwide criteria - intending to supply extensive and unique solutions to get to the highest degree of healthcare solutions by 2021, in accordance with UAE Vision 2021.
