UAE is cooling down: temperatures likely to dip below 25 °C from September 20

As summer begins its gradual retreat in the UAE, residents can expect cooler days and more comfortable nights ahead. From September 20th onwards, low overnight temperatures are forecast to dip below 25 °C, bringing respite from the intense summer heat.

This shift is part of the natural seasonal pattern. The country officially entered Safriya on September 6, a period that marks the beginning of autumn in local meteorological tradition.  Safriya is associated with the appearance of certain constellations, such as the rising of the Jabha’ mansion, which signal changes in weather and shorter daylight hours.

While nights are expected to cool down, daytime temperatures will remain elevated through the onset of autumn, though gradual decline is expected. By around October 10th, daytime highs are expected to dip below 35 °C, while nighttime lows may fall under 20 °C by about October 20th. Further into autumn and early winter, the cooling trend is expected to continue, with daytime highs staying below 30 °C toward November, and possible nighttime lows near 15 °C by December.

Despite the cooler nights, lingering heat and humidity (especially in early morning) means conditions are unlikely to feel completely mild right away. Forecasts point to high humidity levels, which could lead to dew, fog and heavier moisture in the air during pre dawn or early hours.

For many residents, these upcoming weeks offer a chance to enjoy outdoor activities earlier in the morning or later in the evening, when the heat eases. Events, walks, park time, and evening socializing may feel more pleasant. But as always, people are advised to stay alert to weather updates, especially around shifts in humidity, visibility, and temperature.

Overall, the forecast suggests the UAE is heading into its milder season (autumn) bringing more tolerable weather, and more opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without the full heat of summer.
