UAE and Syria among winners on second day of FBMA International Show Jumping Cup

Riders from the UAE and Syria delivered standout performances on the second day of the 13th edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak (FBMA) International Show Jumping Cup 2026, held at Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi.

Wednesday’s programme featured eight competitive categories, with athletes showcasing high-calibre performances across junior, amateur and professional classes, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a key fixture on the international equestrian calendar.

Organised by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, the championship is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. The event is conducted under the guidance and supervision of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Academy, Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club.

In the Juniors’ One Round with Jump Off (130cm), UAE rider Saud Mohamed Almaeeni claimed first place aboard Kartouche MZ, finishing ahead of compatriot Fatima Intan Yousuf Abdullah Al Mulla, while Bulgaria’s Nastassia Klats secured third place.

The One Round with Jump Off (110cm) saw Syria’s Zuhir Mhd Fadi Al Zabibi take top honours riding Snow White. UAE rider Bakheet Mohamed Alqubaisi finished second, followed by Iraq’s Hamzah Aldulaimi in third.

UAE’s Saif Owaida Mohammed Al Karbi delivered a clear round with Pink Floyd V&V to win the Special Two Phases (115cm), ahead of Britain’s Katy Speller and Syria’s Sabri Badenjki.

Syria’s Layth Ghrayeb continued his winning form from the opening day by securing victory in the One Round with Jump Off (135cm) on Favorite De Grandry, edging out UAE riders Shaikh Khalid Sultan Al Qasimi and Fatima Intan Yousuf Abdullah Al Mulla. Ghrayeb later added another gold medal by winning the One Round with Jump Off (120cm), with UAE’s Saif Owaida Mohammed Al Karbi and Mohamed Ghali Al Zaibak completing the podium.

The high standard of competition continued in the Special Two Phases (125cm), where UAE rider Mohamed Hamad Ali Al Kirbi emerged victorious with Onora J, followed by Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi of the UAE and Greece’s Dimitrios Natsis.

In the One Round Against the Clock – Grand Prix Qualifier (140cm), Syria’s Amre Hamcho claimed first place, while Egypt’s Amr Gamal Mohamed finished second and Syria’s Mohamed Osama Al Zabibi placed third.

The final class of the day, Special Two Phases (125cm), was won by UAE rider Hazza Hamad Al Dhaheri, ahead of Syria’s Mohamad Mogheeth Al Shehab and UAE’s Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi.

The Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup 2026 will continue daily with international competitions until Friday, before concluding with the national event.
