Sultan bin Sulayem Presents DP Worlds Experience and Global Role in Ports Industry to the Atlantic Council Leadership Delegation

H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, has received the Atlantic Council Leadership Delegation, headed by Chairman Jon M. Huntsman. Bin Sulayem presented to the delegation DP Worlds vibrant role in the ports industry, having a portfolio of more than 65 marine terminals across six continents.

Following the presentation, the delegation toured Jebel Ali Port, where they were briefed on the ports ongoing expansion projects, which will increase its handling capacity to a total of 19 million TEU after completion in early 2015.

The delegation comprised Mr. Frederick Kempe, President and CEO, Atlantic Council, Mr. Barry Pavel, Vice President and Director, Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security, Atlantic Council, besides top officials from the Councils regional centers and heads of major global companies.

Mr. Huntsman hailed DP Worlds experience and role in developing and managing ports worldwide. He also valued the companys infrastructure development efforts in many countries.

H.E. Sultan bin Sulayem said DP World takes on a leading role in operating ports around the world, in line with the UAEs mission to serve the international community by presenting our accumulated expertise in economic development to other countries.

He further noted We are committed to performing our global obligations to the fullest, following the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to share our rich experiences in Dubai with others.
