Sharjah Launches Dh 250,000 Startup Awards to Transform Education Through Innovation

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) has launched the 7th edition of its Access Sharjah Challenge (ASC), offering a golden opportunity for global innovators to revolutionize education. Two winning startups will each receive a Dh 250,000 equity-free grant, along with the chance to pilot their solutions in four leading educational institutions across Sharjah.

This initiative aligns with the UAE’s long-term vision to strengthen its EdTech sector, which is projected to grow at 6% annually through 2030, driven by a national push towards knowledge-based development and AI-integrated learning.

Solving Real Challenges in Education

The 2025 edition of ASC focuses on two major innovation areas:

1. Future-Ready Skills Challenge

This challenge invites startups to present solutions that empower students with digital literacy, computational thinking, critical analysis, and soft skills. The goal is to prepare youth for a rapidly evolving job market. According to the World Economic Forum, 85% of the jobs expected by 2030 do not yet exist, making adaptive, future-focused learning strategies more crucial than ever.

2. Arabic in Early Childhood Challenge

Aimed at promoting Arabic language fluency and cultural appreciation from an early age, this challenge calls for engaging, age-appropriate content for nursery and early primary students. Sheraa is seeking tools that cultivate a genuine love for Arabic, helping preserve the language's relevance for future generations.

A Platform for Global Impact

Sheraa’s Access Sharjah Challenge continues to position the emirate as a hub for mission-driven innovation, encouraging entrepreneurial solutions that tackle real-world challenges in education. The program also reflects Sharjah’s broader cultural and social development goals.

Startups from around the world are encouraged to apply and take part in shaping the future of learning across the UAE and beyond.
