SEHA and Vocera Collaborate to Provide World-Class Clinical Communication Across Integrated Healthcare Network

Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE:VCRA), a recognized leader in medical communication and workflow solutions, is partnering with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company SEHA, the biggest integrated healthcare community in the United Arab Emirates, to enforce the Vocera Platform at the new Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC). The 732-bed SSMC will be the first hospital in SEHA to standardize care group communication with Vocera solutions. There are future plans for SEHA to set up the Vocera solution throughout 11 more hospitals in the region.

Caregivers will use the wearable Vocera Smartbadge and the Vocera smartphone app to communicate hands-free via voice, send and receive secure messages, manage alerts and alarms, and more. The dynamic master directory of the Vocera Platform will allow clinicians to attain colleagues throughout the network simply by announcing a name, role or group. There is no need to remember phone numbers or recognize who is on call.

The enterprise-grade communication platform will link more than 1,800 caregivers and 440 doctors throughout SSMC. The biggest hospital in the UAE, SSMC was established as part of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to increase healthcare services in the Emirate. In 2019, SEHA partnered with Mayo Clinic to operate the 300,000-square-meter hospital, which gives professional care for the most serious and complicated conditions.
