Saudi Arabia Announces Eid Al Fitr 2026 Holidays for Public and Private Sectors

Saudi Arabia has officially declared the Eid Al Fitr 2026 holidays for both government and private sector employees across the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that the public holiday will commence on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, corresponding to 29th Ramadan, 1447 AH, and will continue for four days. Normal working hours will resume on Sunday, March 22, 2026, the authority confirmed.

The exact dates for Eid Al Fitr will be officially determined based on the Ramadan crescent sighting, as per Islamic tradition.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has also announced its Eid Al Fitr holiday schedule. For federal government entities, the break will begin on Thursday, March 19, and continue until Sunday, March 22, 2026, with work resuming on Monday, March 23, 2026.

For UAE private sector employees, the holiday will run from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21, 2026. Employees whose workweek includes Sunday will resume duties on March 22, unless Ramadan extends to 30 days, in which case the holiday will be extended accordingly.

The coordinated announcements across the Gulf reflect the region’s preparations for one of the most significant Islamic celebrations, marking the conclusion of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal.
