Saeed Khoory honoured as Energy CEO of the Year at Gulf Business Industry Awards 2014

Dubai, UAE; September 17, 2014: Mr Saeed Khoory, the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), won the Energy CEO of the Year honour at the Gulf Business Industry Awards 2014 held in Dubai on Monday.

On behalf of Mr Khoory, Mr Zaid Al Qufaidi, Managing Director Marketing, ENOC, received the award from Shaji Shanmughan, Brand Manager of Nikon.

He was recognised for his visionary leadership in driving the growth of ENOC with a focus on sustainable development, geographic expansion and business diversification. Under Mr Khoorys leadership, ENOC has emerged as the "Energy Partner of Choice" and further defined its credentials as the power behind every successful journey.

Mr Khoory said: I thank the jury of Gulf Business Industry Awards for the honour, which is a testament to the growth achieved by ENOC. Catalysed by the strategic vision of Dubai and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, ENOC has focused on strengthening our business model through innovation, expansion and diversification. We have also placed the highest emphasis on promoting Dubais sustainable development. The Award is the result of the teamwork of our staff and the support of our partners.

Since Mr Khoory took over as CEO in 2007 he has led ENOCs growth by diversifying ENOCs interests such as introducing ZOOM convenience stores. ENOC expanded its Marketing competencies with the opening of the state-of-the-art ENOC Lubricants & Grease Manufacturing Plant (ELOMP) in Fujairah as well as developing A new oil terminal in Jebel Ali to further support Dubais aviation sector.

Mr Khoory has been the driving force in ENOCs commitment to sustainable development. In addition to opening the Middle Easts first green service station, Mr Khoory is spearheading ENOCs commitment to explore cleaner fuels. The company was the first to introduce Green Diesel and is actively promoting the use of Compressed Natural Gas as a cost-competitive and cleaner automotive fuel.

Mr Khoory also spearheads the companys technological advances, having activated the Vehicle Identification Pass (ViP), a Radio Frequency Identification /Vehicle Identification -based fuel retailing system at ENOC/EPPCO service stations.

In line with the companys focus on strengthening Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, ENOC, under the guidance of Mr Khoory, has launched several ambitious programmes such as the Human Fuel campaign in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme and Dubai Charity Association which addresses global hunger.

Over 350 governmental dignitaries and business leaders attended the Gulf Business Industry 2014 awards. The annual awards celebrate both CEOs and companies within nine individual industries, spanning IT, media, real estate, banking, aviation, tourism, retail, healthcare and energy.
