Rixos Bab Al Bahr, the leading all-inclusive resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, proudly announces the promotion of Burak Ak to the position of Operations Director. Burak Ak, who previously served as the Director of Quality and Sustainability, brings over 13 years of international hospitality experience to his new leadership role. Since joining Rixos Bab Al Bahr in 2022, Burak has been instrumental in elevating the resort’s sustainability initiatives, service standards, and inclusivity efforts.

In his new capacity as Operations Director, Burak will oversee all front office operations, including the front desk, concierge, and guest relations departments. His responsibilities will also encompass managing departmental budgets, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction across the board.

A Proven Track Record in Excellence

During his tenure at Rixos Bab Al Bahr, Burak led the resort to achieve numerous prestigious international certifications, including:

• GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification

• EarthCheck certification

• ISO standards in service quality, food safety, environmental management, and customer satisfaction.

He also played a central role in making the resort:

• The first Certified Autism Center in Ras Al Khaimah, and

• The first Blue Flag-certified facility on Al Marjan Island, reinforcing Rixos Bab Al Bahr’s commitment to accessibility and environmental responsibility.

Burak holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, equipping him with a strong foundation to champion sustainability-driven operations. His career spans senior roles in OTI Hotels & Resorts and SGS Turkey, with more than 20 professional certifications in health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Among his key contributions at Rixos:

• Led internal audits and implemented robust hygiene practices.

• Designed comprehensive training programs for staff in quality and sustainability.
