Registration continues for the second edition of “Miyahthon” to advance innovation in water sustainability

The Saudi Water Authority has announced that registration remains open for the second edition of the global hackathon “Miyahthon,” which aims to foster innovation and develop sustainable water solutions. Interested participants can register until October 11, 2025.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the second Miyahthon continues to attract innovators and entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia and around the world. The first edition saw the creation of groundbreaking projects such as the “Smart Ric” water treatment solution and “Hydraya,” an artificial intelligence-powered application for water management. These winning projects were later incubated at the Saudi Water Innovation Center, helping transform them into market-ready solutions.

The hackathon seeks to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within the water sector by offering incubation and acceleration programs. These initiatives empower participants to transform creative ideas into economically viable and environmentally sustainable projects. Miyahthon also provides access to global innovation platforms and investors, supporting the scalability and visibility of participants’ innovations.

The ongoing edition features both virtual and in-person bootcamps designed to enhance participants’ technical and entrepreneurial skills. Topics include desalination, sustainable production, and artificial intelligence applications in water management. Local and international experts are leading these sessions to help prepare participants for the final competition phase.

“Miyahthon represents one of the Kingdom’s leading national initiatives,” the Saudi Water Authority stated. “It underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and developing solutions that ensure water sustainability while positioning Saudi Arabia as a global hub for water technologies.”

Through initiatives like Miyahthon, Saudi Arabia continues to advance its goals in water security, sustainability, and innovation, aligning with the Kingdom’s broader vision of developing a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
