Philips delivers the Middle Easts first TeleICU program in collaboration with UAE Ministry of Health

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AXE: PHIA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UAE's Ministry of Health (MoH) to establish the region's very first TeleICU program throughout health centers and various medical centers. Critical care sites throughout the system are networked into the centralized facility, where a group of local intensivists and critical care nurses ensures that ICU patients receive skilled oversight, up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The contract, which was signed on the sidelines of the just recently held Arab Health Exhibition and Conference, leverages sophisticated innovation developments in the UAE and the health care facilities to enhance the total performance of medical services as well as clinical interactions and process.

The UAE is actively expanding its national healthcare system to satisfy the medical requirements of its person, and as an outcome, we are pleased to partner with the Ministry of Health to help transform crucial patient care by providing incorporated smart innovations that extend the health continuum from healthy living to medical facility to house care. Through a perfect mix of medication with technology, this care design leverages scientific expertise, patented procedures, and cutting-edge technologies to improve critical care shipment 24/7.".

"The TeleICU program minimizes time from ward to home, improve financial results and conserves lives. Globally, Philips studied 120,000 critical care clients across 56 intensive care units (ICUs), 32 healthcare facilities and 19 health systems over a five-year period, and saw that 26 % of the clients getting care in a TeleICU are most likely to endure and get released 20 % faster," included Radder.

Today, over 275 million health center clients are monitored by Philips devices on an annual basis. The company handles over 1 billion medical studies, 24 petabytes of information and leverages its deep heritage of being in customer's houses for about 125 years.

Philips vision of an interconnected health continuum helps integrate customer and healthcare worlds with a goal of putting people at the center of a holistic method which offers comprehensive data-driven understandings to support individual health and medical information decision making.
