Ooredoo Group Partners with NVIDIA to Propel AI Revolution in MENA Region

Ooredoo Group has announced a significant collaboration with NVIDIA, becoming an NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) to drive the AI revolution in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This partnership aims to leverage NVIDIA’s advanced accelerated computing platform to meet the growing demand for generative AI, hyperconnectivity, and technological innovation.

Ooredoo plans to deploy thousands of NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs across its AI data centers to support economic growth, job creation, and technological advancement in Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, and the Maldives.

Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, Group CEO of Ooredoo, stated, “Implementing NVIDIA's full-stack platform for accelerated computing and generative AI positions Ooredoo at the forefront of the AI revolution in MENA. Our goal is to drive digitalisation and innovation, solidifying our role as the leading digital infrastructure provider in the region.”

Transforming Industries with Advanced AI and GPU Offerings

This collaboration will provide governments, enterprises, and startups in the region access to NVIDIA's latest AI platform. By offering GPU-as-a-Service, Ooredoo enables customers to utilize advanced AI and machine learning tools, including generative AI, optimizing processes and enhancing operational efficiencies across various industries.

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at NVIDIA, remarked, “Ooredoo Group’s deep enterprise and consumer relationships, coupled with its investment in AI infrastructure, will facilitate the deployment of generative AI applications and services, empowering customers with NVIDIA’s full-stack AI computing platform.”

Boosting Local AI Infrastructure and Hosting Solutions

Ooredoo’s initiative aligns with its broader strategy to enhance AI infrastructure in the MENA region, ensuring security, performance, and compliance with local standards. This will enable countries where Ooredoo operates to establish local AI clouds, fostering the development of local AI ecosystems and applications.

The collaboration with NVIDIA is expected to drive significant economic growth by providing a state-of-the-art AI cloud platform, promoting job creation and technological innovation. Ooredoo will work closely with stakeholders in each country to ensure the alignment of AI initiatives with local requirements and sovereign AI goals.

Leading Digital Infrastructure Provider

Ooredoo’s digital ecosystem includes core telecom services, a dedicated data center platform, and independent entities focused on wireless towers, financial technology, and subsea cable ventures. This partnership with NVIDIA aligns with Ooredoo's strategy to transform into a telecom and infrastructure holding, aiming to become the neutral carrier of choice while ensuring business sustainability and expansion.

The agreement with NVIDIA was signed during TMForum’s DTW24 event in Copenhagen, with the presence of Ooredoo Group CEO Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo and NVIDIA Senior Vice President of Telecom Ronnie Vasishta.
