MBRF expands circle of beneficiaries under My Family Reads as Dubai Statistics Center joins initiative

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) has announced that Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) has joined its My Family Reads initiative, which aims at promoting the culture of reading for all by delivering knowledge packages containing a selection of books on various aspects of life.

On the occasion, a delegation from MBRF Foundation, including Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director Support Services and Hussein Mohamed, Head of Communication, handed over a number of knowledge packages to HE Tariq Al Janahi, Deputy Executive Director of the DSC, in the presence of directors of various departments. The DSC will distribute the knowledge packages to its employees which will benefit them and their family members.

HE Bin Huwaireb said MBRF is keen to strengthen the process of dissemination and localisation of knowledge through projects and initiatives carried out in partnership with government agencies and institutions. This approach is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who has called for efforts to raise excellence in government work through collaborative efforts between all entities, HE Bin Huwaireb added.

The joining of Dubai Statistics Center in My Family Reads will expand the circle of beneficiaries of the initiative. The knowledge packages under the initiative reach employees and every member of their families, which would encourage reading habit and help people gain access to knowledge from all parts of the world, HE Bin Huwaireb said.

HE Tariq Al Janahi expressed pleasure at Dubai Statistics Center getting the opportunity to be part of My Family Reads initiative. He commended MBRFs efforts towards transferring knowledge among members of the society through creative initiatives that promote the culture of reading among people and enrich their minds.

HE Al Janahi said that the initiative supports the Centers commitment to enhancing the work environment and providing quality services for its employees. Boosting their happiness and loyalty to the organisation will contribute to enhance work performance both at the individual and corporate levels. Reading is a gateway to strengthening the creativity and innovation of the employees, which in turn will support the vision of the Center to serve as an effective partner in driving the reputation and growth of Dubai as a global hub.

My Family Reads initiative has helped preserve the Arabic language and enabled the young generations of the UAE to realise the value of our culture and civilisation, apart from strengthening in them the concept of national identity. The partnership with MBRF will help consolidate mutual cooperation between government institutions in the field of social responsibility and not just at the level of government work, HE Al Janahi said.

The knowledge packages include a collection of books on topics related to history and world heritage. They also discuss issues of interest to families as well as books related to art of management and dealing with things of everyday life. In addition, they contain entertainment and educational books for children and young people, such as books that shed light on the lives of great scientists.

The My Family Reads initiative seeks to spread cultural awareness and encourage the principle of Reading for All, by enabling the young generation of the UAE to gain access to global knowledge and different cultures in order to produce creative minds capable of building a better future.
