Imkan’S Makers District to Give Abu Dhabi its new Heart

Makers District, an 18-hectare masterplan advancement on Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, was today revealed as a new waterfront community being designed specifically to grow imagination through household, hospitality, commercial and retail area.

The-Artery will sit at the heart of Makers District and is the initial building to be unveiled by IMKAN, an Abu Dhabi-based property developer.

An innovative flexible art area that will provide makers a place to both produce and display their work, The-Artery will cover 26,000 square metres and is a multi-use structure that incorporates manufacturers area with a parking lot.

Speaking at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, Walid El Hindi, Chief Executive Officer of IMKAN, said: "IMKAN is laying out to produce a dynamic, incorporated and engaging community that catches the collective spirit of the manufacturer movement. This trip begins with The-Artery, which will be a regional imaginative giant in the heart of Abu Dhabi."

Led by a strong research base, with a heavy concentrate on recognizing brand-new trends and arising chances, IMKAN intends to introduce creative services while bringing turbulent modification to the region's real estate landscape.

The developer has awarded The-Artery design to BIG, an architectural design company based from Copenhagen and New york city. Architectural companies MVRDV from Rotterdam and 10 Design from Hong Kong will additionally be associated with Phase 1 of the advancement.
