HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurates Ladies Day at Design Days Dubai

Dubai, UAE; March 17, 2015: Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), inaugurated the exclusive Ladies Day at Design Days Dubai, the Middle East and South Asias only collectible design fair.

A flagship event of Dubai Art Season, the umbrella arts initiative by Dubai Culture, Design Days Dubai brings together over 44 exhibitors from 20 countries presenting highly desirable works of modern and contemporary design.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed toured the Ladies Day events organised at The Venue, home of Design Days Dubai, and was briefed on the Pierres de Caractre collection, created to celebrate Van Cleef & Arpels' centenary.

Design Days Dubai is organised with the strategic partnership of Dubai Culture, underlining Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammeds vision to celebrate the strength of design that is integral in every art form.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed said: Design has always been an integral and defining component of any burgeoning cultural scene and Dubai is ideally positioned to embrace the newest facets of design on local, regional and international levels. In Dubai, creativity, innovation and sustainability come together to push the frontiers of design and Dubai Culture is committed to celebrate the cultural soul of our city through such initiatives that also highlight Dubais credentials and heritage in design.

Design Days Dubai, now in its fourth edition, offers design enthusiasts the opportunity not only to meet international designers, but also acquire collectible design and enhance collections for private and corporate use.

Dubai Culture remains at the forefront in creating vibrant platforms that promote cultural exchange and innovation. At this years Design Days Dubai, D04, a group of talented local artists, designed Dubai Cultures stand. The design was based on the three pillars that define Dubai Cultures work namely, heritage, culture and the arts and also celebrated the richness of the Arab cultural heritage.

SIKKA Art Fair, an artist-led fair of commissioned works by Emirati and UAE-based artists; Art Dubai, the premier international art fair; and Design Days Dubai are flagship events of Dubai Art Season.
