The Health Bank Introduces a New Connected Care Weight Loss Program Powered by Medisanté

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 14 February 2019: Because The Health Bank (THB) associates better health with optimal weight, the global health company is offering its members a comprehensive weight loss program through its latest collaboration with Medisanté. Medisanté allows THB to seamlessly connect health coaches to patient-generated health data (PGHD) of patients suffering from diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular or obesity issues.

Medisanté leverages the best of global IoT and Cloud technologies to automatically send the device-readings of home patients to the designated health coach.

“Our aim is to make remote patient monitoring through multiple medical devices simple for the patient,” says Gilles Lunzenfichter, VP Sales and Marketing at Medisanté. “Once a cellular device has been assigned to a patient by the health coach, no Bluetooth/Wi-Fi pairing is required to transmit its readings. If it’s that simple for the patient, the sky is the limit for The Health Bank to cost-effectively scale innovative health coaching initiatives such as their new Weight Loss Program”, he adds.

Explaining exactly how the system works, Gilles Lunzenfichter says: “We have embedded global IoT sim cards within all our medical device, such as the body composition scale used by The Health Bank. Basically, the health coach pairs the device in his system and says: ‘Mr. Jones, here is your weighing scale. The only thing you now have to do is go home and weigh yourself once a day’. It is what we call zero-touch configuration for the patient.”

The direct-to-cloud connectivity makes the data transmission to the clinical system of The Health Bank secure and hassle-free for both the patient and the health coach.

The Health Bank Strategy and Support Manager, Zarmina Jafar, believes this partnership is crucial to the Weight Loss segment of The Health Bank’s offerings. “The seamless connectivity to life-changing readings is spearheading the way in which the members of The Health Bank want to manage their health these days,” she says. “Together with Medisanté, The Health Bank is delivering a new model of connected care.”
