Gulf Bank has efficiently ended its platinum sponsorship of the 29 th Memorial Trip for Pearl Diving, which ran from 27 July-- 3 August 2017. The Trip, organized every year by the Board of the Marine Heritage of the Kuwait Sea Sporting activity Club, happened under the Patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The return day event 'Al-Quffal' a standard Kuwaiti term utilized to welcome residence seafarers from long trips - was held on Thursday, 3 August. The event was gone to by Dr. Mohammad Abdulatif Al-Fares, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, standing for HH the Amir, together with local dignitaries, ministry representatives, Gulf Bank senior administration representatives and friends, family members and frelatives of the young sailors.

The delegation invited back and honoured the young Kuwaiti divers and dhow captains, who were maintaining Kuwaiti practice by assisting to continue the memory of the long and harmful journeys Kuwait sailors required to discover pearls each year. The noise of typical Kuwaiti tunes played by a local folkloric group charmed the groups as the scuba divers showcased the pearls and shells they had collected throughout their trip.

The Pearl Diving Memorial Journey is among the campaigns that Gulf bank sponsors on a yearly basis, and creates a key part of its long-term commitment to preserving the heritage and proceeding the practices of Kuwait's unique past. The Journey objectives to remind young Kuwaiti generations of the difficulties and obstacles dealt with by their predecessors in making money, in addition to a message urging these generations to uphold the practices and values their ancestors established during that time
