TwentyFour Basketball Academy has taken a significant step forward in advancing youth basketball development in the UAE with the launch of its new, comprehensive training program. Designed to nurture young athletes both on and off the court, the initiative integrates fitness, nutrition, and mental conditioning into its core curriculum — preparing players for success from grassroots to professional levels.

A Vision to Elevate UAE Basketball

Established in April 2024, TwentyFour Basketball Academy was founded by Issam, a long-time UAE resident and passionate basketball coach, alongside two of his former players who were inspired by his leadership and commitment to developing young talent. Their shared goal: to create a training environment that not only hones athletic skill but also builds discipline, confidence, and resilience.

“Basketball is more than just a game — it’s a way to shape future leaders,” said Issam. “At TwentyFour Basketball Academy, we focus on developing complete individuals who can excel both on the court and in life.”

The Academy’s name, TwentyFour, represents the idea that true athletes live and breathe basketball 24/7. Its guiding mantra, For the Love of the Game, reflects a community-driven spirit and deep passion for nurturing the next generation of players.

A Holistic Development Approach

The new training program supports athletes starting as young as four years old. Early sessions emphasize fundamental movement, coordination, and ball-handling, while older players — from age seven onwards — progress to advanced technical and tactical development. Fitness and nutrition are key components, complemented by mental training to build focus and resilience.

Issam explained, “Every practice, challenge, and victory is an opportunity for growth. Our aim is not only to produce top-level athletes but to prepare young people to thrive in every aspect of their lives.”

Currently operating daily at Meydan Nad Al Sheba, the Academy plans to expand across Dubai, offering greater access to structured basketball education and holistic athletic development.

Championship Success and Rising Talent

The program’s launch follows a week of historic victories for TwentyFour Basketball Academy, with both its U19 A and B teams reaching the finals and winning back-to-back championships in their respective leagues. These triumphs reinforce the Academy’s reputation as one of the UAE’s premier basketball institutions.

“Our goal has always been to create an environment where talent can thrive,” Issam said. “This new program builds on that foundation, giving young athletes the tools, mentorship, and experiences needed to excel.”

Beyond recent championships, the Academy boasts an impressive record of achievements across multiple age groups — from under-10 to under-19 — and has produced players who have gone on to represent national teams. Notably, Under-16 players Ibrahim Mohsen and Zaid Boka earned spots on the Lebanese and Jordanian National Teams respectively, showcasing the Academy’s role in shaping internationally competitive athletes.

Global Exposure and Future Pathways

TwentyFour Basketball Academy’s influence extends beyond UAE borders, with teams earning podium finishes at the World Youth Championship in Singapore and receiving invitations to international tournaments in Bosnia, China, and Spain.

Through a partnership with EDU Sports, a platform connecting talented student-athletes with scholarship and placement opportunities, the Academy provides pathways for its players to pursue higher education and professional basketball careers abroad.
