Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra to present stunning musical renditions during Dubai Art Season

The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra, marking its 20th anniversary this year, will perform stunning renditions as part of Dubai Art Season, the citys flagship umbrella arts initiative launched by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage.

Highlighting an important component of the Dubai Art Season, the performance brings to light the musical talent that resides in the UAE. The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform their renditions at the American University of Dubai on March 22, at 7:30pm; in the Cultural & Scientific Association in Al Mamzar on March 23, at 8:30pm; and in Dubai Knowledge Village, on March 24, at 7:30pm.

The performances, part of the 10th annual Emirates International Peace Music Festival, will feature prolific skills of three young Emirati violinists, Khaula Al Rayhi, Mira Ghobash, and Umayma Al Shunnar, under the overall programme.

The three Emirati violinists will join Elli Choi, Sarina Zhang, and Arisa Onoda, for their renditions of Tchaikovskys renowned Violin Concerto; Dvoraks Cello Concerto; and the triple concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano, by Beethoven, respectively.

Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: The UAE is home to a trove of untapped music potential that is yet to be discovered. Through the Dubai Art Season, our goal is to energise the citys music landscape, by providing aspiring and emerging musicians with the opportunity to showcase their talent to a wider audience.

Riad Kudsi, Director & Conductor, National Conservatory, Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra, said: The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra committed to enriching the UAEs cultural and musical outlook, providing education and training to local young musicians. We thank our partners for their ongoing support in helping us to develop the UAEs musical landscape and nurture upcoming talent, and we look continue to welcome all youngsters, especially locals, to join our orchestra.

Held until April 15, 2015, Dubai Art Season, unites five of the citys premier arts events including Art Week, the Middle East Film & Comic Con and Gulf Film Festival. Art Week celebrates three flagship events, Art Dubai, Design Days Dubai, and SIKKA Art Fair. Several panel discussions, workshops, performances, outdoor art projects and exhibitions will be held as part of the initiative.
The activities under Dubai Art Season will play an integral role in highlighting the growth of its creative industries within the regional and international circuit.
