Dubai Unveils New Exit from Financial Centre Street to Ras Al Khor Road to Slash Travel Time by 54%
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the opening of a new exit from Financial Centre Street to Ras Al Khor Road, near the Bu Kadra Interchange, set to launch in early August. The upgrade is projected to cut travel time during peak hours from 13 minutes to just 6 minutes — a reduction of 54%.
In addition to slashing commute durations, the new infrastructure will double the road's capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour, significantly easing traffic congestion and reducing queues at one of the emirate’s busiest intersections.
Part of a Larger Traffic Improvement Plan
RTA highlighted that this new exit is part of a broader effort to enhance traffic flow in the Ras Al Khor area, which has recently seen a series of road upgrades.
Earlier this year, Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road to Al Khail Road toward Al Meydan Street was widened from a single lane to two lanes across 500 meters, effectively doubling its capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour. This improvement helped reduce peak travel times from 7 minutes to 4 minutes.
“We are committed to the continuous enhancement of roads and infrastructure in line with Dubai’s urban development,” the RTA said in a statement.
These initiatives aim to streamline connectivity between key areas and support Dubai’s growing population and urban expansion, particularly around high-traffic corridors like Ras Al Khor, Financial Centre Street, and Al Meydan.
