Dubai Digital partners with CIPS to strengthen strategic procurement and workforce development

Dubai Digital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to advance excellence in strategic procurement and support the professional growth of its procurement workforce.

The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital, by His Excellency Tariq Al Janahi, CEO of the Corporate Enablement Sector at Dubai Digital, and Sam Achampong, Regional Director of CIPS for the Middle East and North Africa.

Under the MoU, CIPS will deliver an 18-month program that includes applied learning, mentoring, competency assessments, and globally accredited certifications. Training will focus on enhancing practical competencies, promoting ethical practices, and aligning with international procurement standards.

Commenting on the partnership, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori said the agreement reflects Dubai Digital’s commitment to building future-ready human capital and advancing government efficiency. “By working with world-class institutions, we are equipping our teams with the skills needed to lead with innovation, integrity, and efficiency in procurement and supply chain management, thereby strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading digital city,” he stated.

Sam Achampong, Regional Director of CIPS, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, noting that procurement is a cornerstone for innovation, resilience, and value creation in public service. “Through this partnership, we will provide training tailored to the UAE’s ambitions, empowering professionals to lead transformation in procurement and supply,” he said.

The partnership is part of wider efforts to build national capacity, foster ethical procurement practices, and instill a culture of continuous learning in government. It also aligns with CIPS’s role as a global advisor supporting governments and organizations in advancing procurement strategies and policy frameworks.
