Dubai Customs confersdegrees on Talent Pool 2nd Class of Graduates

Dubai Customs has conferred degrees on the second class of its employee graduates who successfully completed the Talent Pool program; a training course geared towards building employeecapacities. The program is designed in line with His HighnessSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubaisvision and enlightening directives towards harnessing innovation and innovators; being the ultimate capital and investment of the UAE.

H.E Ahmed MahboobMusabih, congratulated the DC graduates, urging them for more dedication that shall repay upon both themselves and the department as a whole. He stated in his speech, We at Dubai Customs are always keen on providing fertile ground for the optimal utilization and nurturing of talents.Acknowledging the insightful approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed on the importance of enhancing employee skills and potential. We furnisha vivid pedagogically designed training matrixsteered towards elevating and bringing forward our workforce career path to becoming future leaders. By doing so, we are aiming at instilling innovation within our working paradigm as an institutionalized daily practice rather than being an aspired method.

He further explained that this program is one of the DCs many initiatives, utilized for prompting highly competitive and efficient candidates to join the corporate working environment, as well as to mine for in-house talent thatseek to attainthe best results out of their course of work. This eventually leads into the creation and retention of arich talent pool of human capital, capable of assuming critical positions and undertaking demanding tasks.
On his part, Butti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of HR Finance and Administration Division, said Dubai Customs is spearheading local efforts towardsdeveloping and retaining national cadres. The overallEmiratisation percentage at DC has increased to 84% during 2013-2014, while it is 100% in customs inspection workforce. Meanwhile, we are also formulating annual plans aimed at enhancing employees performance and moving up work standards, in fulfilment of DCs strategic plan.

Dubai Customs launchedthis program in 2012. The first batch of 17 employees from various positions graduated in 2013. The second class, on the other hand, consists of 13 graduates representing different Customs organizational units, namely HR, Finance and Administration, Strategy and Corporate Excellence, Customer Management and many more.
