Dubai Culture and Dubai Racing Club Forge Strategic Partnership to Showcase Emirati Heritage at Dubai World Cup

In a move that underscores Dubai’s commitment to preserving and promoting its rich cultural heritage, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Racing Club. The agreement is aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of culture and heritage through a variety of creative initiatives, activations, and public engagements during high-profile events such as the Dubai World Cup.

The MoU was signed by Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, and His Excellency Ali Abdulrahman Al Ali, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Racing Club. The partnership will serve as a platform to present innovative cultural programming—ranging from traditional art performances and handicraft exhibitions to immersive heritage experiences—designed to educate and engage local and international visitors on the richness of Emirati identity.

“The partnership reflects our joint efforts to preserve the UAE’s tangible and intangible cultural assets,” said Hala Badri. “By integrating cultural showcases into global sporting events like the Dubai World Cup, we not only reach wider audiences but also uphold the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in positioning Dubai as a future-forward city deeply rooted in its heritage.”

Badri emphasized that the collaboration would create new opportunities for emerging Emirati artists and creatives to display their work to an international audience, contributing to the growth of the cultural and creative industries in Dubai.

She added, “With Dubai’s global reputation for hosting world-class events, this initiative builds on our strong infrastructure, dynamic cultural scene, and our ongoing mission to safeguard and share our heritage with future generations.”

Commenting on the agreement, Ali Al Ali highlighted the significance of integrating heritage into the sporting landscape, particularly at events as globally celebrated as the Dubai World Cup.

“Our collaboration with Dubai Culture enhances the race-day experience by embedding elements of Emirati heritage within the event,” he said. “This partnership goes beyond the racetrack—it is about sharing our national identity with the world and deepening cross-cultural understanding through authentic storytelling.”

He added, “Since its launch in 1996, the Dubai World Cup has evolved into one of the world’s premier horse racing events. As we approach the 30th anniversary in 2026, we remain committed to enriching the event with cultural narratives that celebrate both tradition and innovation.”

Through this partnership, Dubai Culture and Dubai Racing Club aim to position the Dubai World Cup not only as a global sporting spectacle but also as a cultural milestone that celebrates the essence of Emirati heritage and its place on the world stage.
