Dubai Courts to suspend payment operations on December 31, 2025

The Dubai Courts has announced that all court payment operations will be temporarily suspended on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during both the morning and evening sessions. The decision comes as part of the preparations for New Year’s Eve and the upcoming official holidays marking the start of 2026.

According to the statement released on Thursday, December 25, the suspension will apply exclusively to in-person payment services. However, electronic payment channels through the Dubai Courts’ official website will remain fully operational throughout the day, ensuring that users can continue to settle dues and access essential services online without disruption.

The authority emphasized that digital services provide an efficient and accessible alternative for residents and legal professionals seeking to process court payments during the holiday period. This measure aligns with Dubai’s broader strategy to enhance smart governance and promote seamless digital transactions across government entities.

In a related development, Abu Dhabi Courts introduced a digital currency payment option earlier this year, becoming the first government entity in the Middle East to officially accept the AE Coin, a stablecoin regulated by the UAE Central Bank, for judicial and legal service fees. Payments using AE Coin can be made via the AEC Wallet, reflecting the UAE’s continued innovation in fintech integration within public services.

The temporary suspension of manual payment operations by Dubai Courts underscores the UAE’s ongoing efforts to modernize legal and financial procedures while ensuring uninterrupted access to electronic systems during national holidays and key calendar events.
